ABOUT ME

As someone with a full time career in pharmaceutical sales, an active realestate portfolio, a wife, and a single mother of three very busy girls, finding a little quiet time can be difficult. Fitting in  exercise can be a real challenge!  It is important, to me, to maintain a certain level of fitness and overall health to keep up with the busy demands of life. Being fit and healthy helps to ensure I'm around to see my children grow into amazing adults and be an active participant in the future lives of my grandchildren.  Mid-2012 I made it my goal to bring regular activity back to my life...it's amazing, to me, what's happened since.

After being out of the water for 13 years, my brother asked if I would swim for his masters team. His team is in London and our family is in Grimsby.  Regardless of the location difference, I agreed, as long as I could get myself to a lane swim at least once per week.  I found it difficult to get to the pool on a regular basis.  There was always an excuse; work, kids, the sun was out.........but with help from my family and  I have found a way to stay motivated and work toward a goal. What started as regular activity has now turned into winning 3 silver and 2 bronze at the 15th FINA World Masters Championships, qualifying and competing at 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championships, and qualifying for 2016 Ironman World Championships.  At the age of 42 I qualified to compete as an Ironman Pro-Triathlete. Since Covid I have stepped back from professional racing and back in the age group ranks, focusing on new goals and sharing my experience with others as a coach.  Sometimes you have to create your own path.
